Information about the Federal Data Protection Act (DSGVO)

Dear Families,

Protecting your personal data is important to us. In accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we wish to inform you about how we collect and use personal data.

PEDALS collects the following types of data:

Personal identification information, medical history information, socio-economic information, academic achievement information and information about emotional state

How PEDALS collects data:
You as parents, and your child, directly provide us with most of the data we collect. Teachers or other school staff also provide us with data, after you have given your written consent by signing the “Information Sharing Approval” form.

PEDALS collects your data so that we can:
Contact you, match test results to the student who took the test, compile tests results taken by one student to create a psycho-diagnostic report and track a student’s progress, thus fulfilling our contract with you.

PEDALS stores your data:
In a locked file cabinet in a lockable office and/or on a password-protected computer. Your data will be stored for a duration of 10 years. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data files from the computer and destroy the paper copies of all tests and notes.

We honor your data protection rights. You have the right to:

• Information: You have the right to information about how we process your data.
• Access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
• Rectification: You have the right to request that PEDALS correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request PEDALS to complete information you believe is incomplete.
• Erasure: You have the right to request that PEDALS erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
• Restrict processing: You have the right to request that PEDALS restrict the procession of your personal data, under certain conditions.
• Object to processing: You have the right to object to PEDALS’ processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
• Data portability: You have the right to request that PEDALS transfer the data we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
